Looking back on this day in 1983, we had the pleasure of showing an exhibition of early photo collages by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lalouver.com\/html\/exhibition.cfm?tExhibition_id=112\">David Hockney \u201cNew Work With a Camera\u201d (May 14 - June 25, 1983<\/a>) at our former Market Street address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a review by Christopher Knight, he stated \u201cthe most remarkable thing about looking at Hockney\u2019s photographs is the way they look back at you. The composite image is reconstructed from a composite of focused sensory experiences in time that, brought together all at once, assume the property of a spectacle.
