Louver Kienholz solo exhibition in 1981:<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lalouver.com\/html\/exhibition.cfm?tExhibition_id=87\"> \u201cSollie 17 and the White Easel Series.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized tmblr-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/64.media.tumblr.com\/2aa9648cc06b64c528dca8cbbaa5d41c\/c4381447358997cb-37\/s540x810\/863f1f5a02df4d3258f71a1325ef8ee896a96c95.jpg\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:840px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Created by the couple in 1979-1980, \u201cSollie 17\u201d deals with the solitude of aging alone in America. Along with being shown at L.A. Louver, \u201cSollie 17\u201d traveled to or was a part of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lalouver.com\/html\/exhibition.cfm?tExhibition_id=87\">18 exhibitions <\/a>worldwide including: 1981 Whitney Biennial; Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston, TX, 1984-1985; Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art, 1985; Museum Moderner Kunst, Vienna, Austria, 1989; Sonje Museum of Art, Seoul, Korea, 1996, just to name a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was then included in the traveling exhibition \u201cKienholz: A Retrospective,\u201d Whitney Museum of Modern Art, NY; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; Berlinische Gallery, Berlin, 1996-1997.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following its extensive exhibition history, \u201cSollie 17\u201d made its permanent home at the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/americanart.si.edu\/collections\/search\/artwork\/?id=68049\">Smithsonian American Art Museum<\/a>, where it currently resides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IMAGE: Top -&nbsp;Edward &amp; Nancy Reddin Kienholz,&nbsp;Sollie 17 (interior), 1979 - 80,&nbsp;mixed media assemblage,&nbsp;10 x 28 x 14 ft (3 x 8.5 x 4.3 m),&nbsp;Collection of the National Museum of American Art,&nbsp;Smithsonian Institute, Washington D.C.; Bottom -&nbsp;Edward &amp; Nancy Reddin Kienholz,&nbsp;Sollie 17 (exterior), 1979 - 80<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>_______________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>*The opening of&nbsp;Kienholz: The Ozymandias Parade \/ Concept Tableaux&nbsp;has been postponed due to the recent storm.
