Here\u2019s an excerpt from Ana Finel Honigman\u2019s review:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><a class=\"service\" title=\"Search Artforum.com for  Enrique Mart\u00ednez Celaya\" href=\"http:\/\/www.artforum.com\/search\/search=%22Enrique%20Mart%EDnez%20Celaya%22\">Enrique Mart\u00ednez Celaya<\/a>\u2019s \u201cThe Pearl\u201d is an affecting meditation on nostalgia. Mart\u00ednez Celaya constructs this exhibition like a tightly composed narrative poem involving a small cast of characters\u2014a boy, a fox, a gaggle of different kinds of small woodland birds, and a German shepherd\u2014depicted through paintings, chintzy figurines, sculptures, and installation. Nothing feels extraneous in Mart\u00ednez Celaya\u2019s dreamlike vision of a lost home and distant boyhood. His surreal narrative unfolds through a series of installations that viewers explore from room to room by following a clear hose hung from the ceiling.
