That\u2019s what I have. We all get a lifetime. They\u2019re different, but we all get one.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>In a recent interview with Martin Gayford, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lalouver.com\/html\/hockney_bio_00s.html\">David Hockney<\/a> opens up in ways we\u2019ve never seen before, discussing current work and his rediscovered strive to continue creating amidst personal difficulties and health challenges.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Approaching a productive phase of making, Hockney has returned to portraiture having already produced several dozen acrylic paintings since his recent return to Los Angeles. He\u2019s loosely referred to the series as <em>La Com\u00e9die humaine<\/em>, after reading a biography on Balzac. \u201cLook at Balzac, dead at 51, but he produced 100 years of writing,\u201d says Hockney. \u201cI\u2019ll just go on until I\u2019m bored, and I think it will be a long time.
