The Bohemian art haven that was 1970s Venice Beach provided fertile ground for the gallery’s growth and proximity to many artists who would become dear members of our community. From L.A. Louver’s founding in 1975 through 1988, Richard Diebenkorn worked at his nearby Ocean Park studio, where clerestory windows let in the diffused Los Angeles light that made its way into so many of his paintings. In collaboration with the Richard Diebenkorn Foundation, L.A. Louver wanted to take this moment to highlight our longstanding relationship with the artist, who has exhibited at L.A. Louver in numerous solo and group exhibitions since 1980.
