Siamese Metal #6 in the Skyroom

14 Apr 2016

With the installation of Richard Deacon’s stainless steel sculpture Siamese Metal #6 in the Skyroom, we’re taking a look back at some of his earlier installations in our unique open air space.

Well know for his technical mastery of a diverse range of materials: from stainless steel, wood and clay, to photography and
screen print, the Welsh artist was awarded the Turner Prize in 1987, and was made a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the Ministry of
Culture in France in 1997. Deacon was elected a member of the Royal Academy in 1998, and a year later Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
awarded Deacon Commander of the British Empire.

Click here to see watch a video of the artist discussing the works in his 2013 L.A. Louver exhibition Beware of the Dog.
