Here’s a view of our current show “Don Suggs: Face-Off,” an exhibition of paintings by Suggs that were previously never shown publicly. While appearing lighthearted upon initial encounter, their subjects, at times, touch on the political but moreover, speak to the human condition. His facility as a draftsman, colorist and painter are confidently expressed in every mark and gesture, from subtle tonal arrangements and painterly streaks, to bold vibrant contrasts and agile calligraphic lines.
