Works on paper by Frederick Hammerlsey at The Laguna Art Museum

8 Mar 2016

The Laguna Art Museum has organized an exhibition of works on paper by Frederick Hammerlsey. Although primarily known for his colorful abstract hard-edge paintings, Hammersley maintained an active studio practice that included making works on paper: drawing and prints. These exercises proved essential to his art making process, and informed his approach to painting. With works that range from casual life studies to carefully composed abstractions, the exhibition was made possible by a generous donation of 38 works on paper from the Frederick Hammersley Foundation to the Laguna Art Museum in 2014.

Frederick Hammersley: Works on Paper from the Permanent Collection is on view through May 30, 2016. Learn more here
