Table F (1999) by Richard Deacon, one of Britain’s most celebrated living sculptors, is on view in our second floor gallery group show of abstract sculpture. Pushing the limits of materiality and form, Deacon is a master at manipulating raw materials in unexpected ways.
In 2007, L.A. Louver presented Deacon’s monumental sculpture, Dead Leg (2007). Made of twisted strips of oak and stainless steel, the structure measures 8 feet tall and spans 28 x 9 feet, dominating our first floor gallery. Click here to watch a time lapse film documenting the sculpture’s intensive installation.
Other artists featured in our current sculpture show include Tony Cragg, Joel Shapiro, Peter Shelton, Sui Jianguo and Matt Wedel.
On view through 2 July 2015.
