One of the newer works on view in Michael C. McMillen’s solo exhibition OUTPOST, includes this wall piece also titled OUTPOST. In this work, the artist depicts a miniaturized industrial compound that stands desolate and on the brink of collapse, an antique chair has been transformed into its architectural foundation. Like many of the works in the exhibition, the sculpture addresses the common theme of places on the fringe or something existing elsewhere, wether physically or in another space in time.
Michael C. McMillen: OUTPOST is on view through February 13, 2016.
