“The Pearl” is now on view at SITE Santa Fe!

Enrique Martínez Celaya’s “The Pearl” is now on view at SITE Santa Fe! The full immersion installation extends through all 15,000 square feet of SITE’s gallery spaces, and features paintings, sculptures, installation, video, waterworks and olfactory elements.

For this project, Martínez Celaya takes the concept of home as points of both departure and destination, to craft a multi-sensory experience that will be a metaphorical journey of emotional and psychological reflection. Visitors will experience the installation in a particular sequence that allows a multi-level narrative to unfold.

In conjunction with the exhibition, Ediciones Polígrafa has published a comprehensive monograph on the artist. A publication party for the catalogue will be held tomorrow (July 19th, 6pm) at ARCANA: Books on the Arts, located in Culver City’s historic Helm’s Bakery. Martínez Celaya will be present to discuss the new book with author Mary Rakow and curator/writer Howard N. Fox. More details at arcanabooks.com.
