Enrique Martínez Celaya has dedicated his whole Miami studio to prepare for his upcoming exhibition at SITE Santa Fe, opening this July. As a teaser, the images above illustrate work in progress and based on these photos, we’re intrigued to see how these sculptures, paintings and installations will take over all of SITE Santa Fe’s spacious galleries. To provide a little background on the project, here’s SITE’s informational text describing the exhibition:
SITE Santa Fe’s entire 15,000 square feet of exhibition space will take viewers on a captivating journey through one artist’s vision this summer. Opening on July 13, Enrique Martinez Celaya: The Pearl is sure to capture global attention. The Cuban-American artist, originally trained as both a physicist and an artist, expresses his ideas through painting, sculpture, writing and installation. This exhibition will be based on the concept of home as both a destination and a departure point. SITE is known worldwide for its biennial exhibitions of important contemporary art. Its industrial-style building in the Santa Fe Railyard is a work of art itself, ever changing as selected artists use its facade as their canvas.
