A master draftsman and technically deft, Hockney infuses a sense of vibrancy and liveliness into his subjects, in this case a dreary winter landscape. Using only an iPAD, Hockney created the work featured above on January 1, 2011, during one of his daily outings into the English countryside of East Yorkshire.
