David Hockney’s first showed at L.A. Louver in 1978, with a series of drawings a prints including llustrations for Grimm’s Fairy-Tales, the Hollywood Series and a group of variations on Picasso’s blue period guitarist.
Over the last three decades, L.A. Louver has witnessed the artist’s fascination with technological change, evidenced in shows like New Work with a Camera in 1983 and Drawing in a Printing Machine in 2009.
We celebrate the artist’s ever-evolving practice in his new photographic drawings and paintings that merge digital and traditional techniques to alter our notions of perspective in our current exhibition. We can’t even begin to imagine what the artist has in store for us next!
