Ben Jackel drone: Tanaris

10 May 2012

The discussion on drones has become increasingly politicized.

“One could agree that never before has there been a weapon that allows us to distinguish more effectively between al-Qaeda terrorists and civilans.” - John Brennan (Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism).

As Ben Jackel states, “They have revolutionized warfare: ‘man versus man’ just got a little more complicated because one man is no longer present. [They are] so interesting and so beautiful, but also menacing and powerful.”

This most recent drone plane “Tanaris” produced by Ben Jackel, was inspired by an unmanned military plane currently in production in the UK, which has been described to be “one of the largest unmanned air vehicles.”

In this video, Jackel provides more insight to his view on drones and shows us a little bit of his studio process.
