The Drawings of Gajin Fujita

14 Jul 2012

You may have seen Gajin Fujita’s Ukiyo-e works on view at the Pacific Asia Museum (Pasadena), his prints and drawings at MASS Moca (Massachusetts), or his mural adjacent to the Navy Pier (Chicago).

Not to be overlooked are Fujita’s drawings, which provide a fascinating glimpse into his process and technique. Made of spray paint, ink and pencil, each drawing begins as a stencil that Ganjin uses to create his painting. These remarkable “drawings” provide a glimpse into Ganjin’s creative process and leave room for the imagination….
