Where did you grow up in LA?
90’s Pasadena, SGV
What is your favorite thing about Los Angeles?
The sublime beauty of the city. Traffic in the day, dead and empty at night. Happy accidents you find in the city that inspire art. The overall rhythm and pace of the city.
Where do you find inspiration for your studio practice?
America and Los Angeles… Memories, stories, landscape, people, beauty, places, current events and community.
Favorite eat in LA?
Right now it’s a taco truck called El Taquito in ‘Dena on Fairoaks. I’m there at lease once or twice a week. Burger Lords and Blossom Vietnamese in Chinatown has great food.
Favorite work of art?
Kerry James Marshall paintings. I love the color, composition and content. He’s repainting American Art history and he’s so versatile. Can’t wait ‘till his exhibition hits MOCA LA.
