Galleries and art aficionados are gearing up for EXPO CHICAGO: The International Exposition of Contemporary/Modern Art & Design, kicking off this Thursday, September 20, at one of the Windy City’s main attractions, the Navy Pier. On view through Sunday, September 23rd, the art fair will host over 100 national and international galleries.

If you’re future plans bring you to the art fair this weekend, be sure to catch a peak of Gajin Fujita’s mural “CHI-TOWN,” which currently resides at the Navy Pier. Stretching across the north wall of the Grand Avenue and Lake Shore Drive viaduct, Gajin and his crew produced this 130 ft. x 10 ft. mural in conjunction with the city-wide public art exhibition, BIG ART, on view though October 31, 2012. Other participating artists include Anthony Caro, Roy Lichtenstein, Nancy Rubins, Alexis Smith, Steed Taylor and Almond Zigmund.
