If you’ve driven down Avenue of the Stars in Century City lately, you may have noticed a number of animals inhabiting the center median of this famed L.A. street. But don’t be alarmed! These “wild” animals are actually (quite tame) bronze sculptures produced by L.A. artist Gwynn Murrill.
Stretching the mile between Pico and Santa Monica boulevards, the installation consists of over 20 animal forms that seamlessly engage with the surrounding urban environment. A flock of deer gracefully emerge from the landscape, wild coyotes forage among the grass, and big cat tigers dominate the spectacular water fountain.
“Gwynn Murrill at Avenue of the Stars” will be on view through October 2013.
