Works by Miami-based artist Enrique Martínez Celaya make a permanent home in Sweden!

Martínez Celaya has garnered a following in Sweden and it’s no wonder, having named Swedish author Harry Martinson as a big influencer on his oeuvre. Recently, the Moderna Museet in Stockholm acquired the artist’s seminal painting The Early Hunger (2009) for their collection, and his monumental bronze sculpture The Tower of Snow (2012) is now permanently installed at the Konsthallen Strandverket located on the picturesque island of Marstrand.

If Sweden’s a little out of your reach, Martínez Celaya is currently working on an extensive project for SITE Santa Fe in New Mexico. Set to open in July, this immersive installation will take over all 15,000 square feet of SITE’s gallery spaces. Check out the works in progress on his website.
