“On The Cusp Of Fun might bring forth the proposition of perception, emotion, time, success and failure. Atmospheric distance interplays with line, shape, gesture and color causing a continuous meditative search around and through the paint. Surface texture pushes the eye directionally and gradually releases its hold as softer applications cause a recession into space. Through calculated and spontaneous layering, reworking, cover-ups and subtraction, the end result is something vaguely familiar yet autonomous and free from recognizable associations, thereby challenging the viewer to abandon their expectations of any concrete image.”
