Enrique Martínez Celaya has been spending his summer vacation at Dartmouth, one of the nation’s most prestigious collegiate institutions. Chosen as the summer term Montgomery Fellow, Martínez Celaya is in residence at the college for the month of July.

In conjunction with the residency, an exhibition of the artist’s works are on view at the Hood Museum of Art, located on campus. Titled Burning as It Were a Lamp, the immersive installation features two paintings, a weeping bronze boy, and mirrors. Upon entry, the viewer is confronted by mirrors that reveal the installation through encountered reflections.
