Thermal pools
The Abyss Pools and Travertine Springs are inspired by the palette of dark pools and mineral springs, which Suggs imagines in oil of rich, glossy color applied in concentric circles against a white or grey background.

Paradise prints
Paradise Prints are archival inkjets inspired by landscape, and printed in small editions of five or fewer. Suggs photographs each landscape with the intended void in mind, the circular abstraction that overlays provides a key to understanding the obstructed view: either in fact (the palette of the landscape), or in symbol (a reference to something external to the landscape that resonates with the scene). |

Canoniris paintings
The Canoniris paintings focus on an 80 year time span from 1430 to 1510--roughly from the initiation of linear perspective to the end of the most spectacularly fecund decade of the Renaissance. Each Canoniris painting is based on a circular crop of the source painting--an area chosen for its psychological centrality, and at the center of which is an anchoring circular motif. |

The Patrimony/Matrimony series interprets iconic works of art, by both men(Patrimony)
and women(Matrimony) artists, using a conceptual framework based on palette,
composition and psychological force. In conceiving each work, Suggs first determines
the "emotional heart of the painting," which becomes the center of these tondos. |
